Benchmarking

1. Ranking – out of 10 priority keywords, 2 are on the first page. On the 2nd priority 2 keywords are on the first page while 2 are on the 2nd page. Some pages need to be edited in terms of keywords insertion and density but the CMS is not allowing my login access. It said the login access i am using are not allowed to edit.
Long Tailed keywords are added to reduce the incoming links of the priority keywords. The pages for these keywords are need to identify and its keywords need to be distributed including its semantic related keywords. Hope you guys can give me exact authorization to edit page descriptions.

2. Traffics – On the end of March, we have 4,469 unique visitors for the past 2 weeks of March. That is 26% improvement on traffics compared to first 2 weeks of March. Compared to Feb, this March traffics is 34% improvement.

Time on site is still small at 1min and 27sec while average page view is still 2.4pages per visitors. Bounce rate is a little higher at 70% compared to average of 65%.

Landing pages – If you guys are running a Amazon or any other advertisement, you should create a separated landing pages specific to your campaign. For example, if you got Google PPC ads, then the landing page should be created with only needed information so that you can reduces the navigation link of the pages which will improve conversion. Let them purchase right on the landing page. This is less distraction principle of the landing pages.
This is our old PPC landing page before – http://www.ibcjapan.co.jp/landing.asp?ic=8 while this is the main site home page http://www.ibcjapan.co.jp/. The landing page helps us improve the conversion by:

1. Limiting the choices and let them see the top selling products right on the landing page.
2. They stay on one page only so that page must be very functional in such a way we can get the email address.
3. Sometime landing page of the PPC or affiliate program is called sales page or squeeze page. Its long and sectional to include all the needed information to be given to the visitors.
4. With separate landing page we can evaluate the effectivity of the design (testing diff landing pages), conversion, time on site, statistics and clicks.

 

3. Referrals

These are the top source of traffics. While google organice got the highest visitors it also have satisfactory bounce rate. Almost 50% of the 1479 stay on the site and surf the website pages.

The yahoo, bing and email all have very good stats based on its bounce rate and traffic trends.

PPCads got 504 visitors for the last 2 weeks of march yet it got 90% bounce rate. It mean only 50 visitors where actually enter the site and surf the products. The rest of the 504 visitors are gone and it is a waste of money for the advertiser. Again a separate well design landing page for PPC is needed to have control of designs, testing layout for effectivity, control of products and information which will turn to better conversion.

Amazon got 288 visitors and yet again it has 77% bounce rate. It will be expensive for the company if these visitors are not coverting. Again a better design of separate landing page for amazon is needed.

Direct visitors got 1173 or those visitors already knew the domai of the site. The problem of this visitors is that it got 84% bouce rate too. So for 1173 visitors the only visitors left is 117. Guys you have a good number of visitors but the problem is the conversion.

We need to do some research on how to improve conversion. Some few thing i recommend is to improve the home page with priority on the most selling products. Right now what i see are the accessories which is not the main product of the site. Other is the separate landing pages for the advertising campaign.

Lastly reduce the choices in the home page. It will create other ideas or new choices on the part of the visitors which in turn become non coverting due to new information in their mind. This part is effective and tested in call center and web dev website. Not sure in the ecommerce like this.
4. Keyword performance –

The category “not provided” or hidden keywords by Google provide 503 visitors which is 38% better on the first 2 weeks of March and 67% better than last weeks of Feb. Unfortunately, we are not seeing the exact keywords as Google hide it from us. If you like we install another analytics to really get the performance of our keywords.

Outdoor Water Features got 34 visitors or 12% compared to last 2 weeks of Feb.
tabletop fountains got 15 visitors while it is 16 last Feb. Seems no ranking improvement that is why the traffic is the same. I notice a bigger search volume in March so traffics are expected to increase from all section.

outdoor water fountains and outdoor floor fountains are back with 11 visitors each.
Tiki fountain suddely giving traffics but it has poor bounce rate (80%). We need to look on the landing page of this keyword to see why its visitors are not happy with the product.

Buddha fountain is now rank 5th and for unknown reason it has 71% bounce rate. It got 7 visitors for the past 2 week but it seems majority are not satisfied with they see on this page

5. Site top pages and perhaps most sold products

I think these products should be in the home page. You got to find where t put the lastest products and promo or on sale products.

6. Indicators
Site PR is the same while Alexa is on the average. Site internal link is 89,604. Last month google indexed 92032 links but now Google could not find almost 2428 links. This is problem with CMS or server that is affecting SEO. External links is 3230 and the same with Feb but different on March 15. I will be looking for new domain links to increase this stats.

Google indexed about 8380 pages last Dec 2012 but now we got 2130. Any idea on this?

7. Impressions –

8. Again i added new keywords to be able to get traffics from long tailed kewyords.
It need landing page so i will look for it and inform you for content improvements.
