DOODLE 4 GOOGLE PROGRAM
The Google Philippines Inc. will conduct the Doodle 4 Google Program with the theme what can I do for the Philippines?
The Program aims to (1) encourage the Filipino youth to be creative both online and offline by inviting them to reinvent Google Philippines homepage logo and (2) reach a number of Filipinos through submission of their home page logo entries and have these presented for public voting to demonstrate the synergy between art and technology.
The Program is open to all Filipino learners from ages 5 to 17 year old residing in the Philippines and currently enrolled in a formal school or enlisted in an alternative learning system from both public and private schools.
Entries for the competition are classified into four groups:
1. 5-8 years old;
2. 9-11 years old;
3. 12-14 years old; and
4. 15-17 years old.
The Contest Timeline is the following:
• Contest Opens Media Launch Event – July 10, 2014
• Manila Roadshow (SM Megamall, Main Activity Area) – August 16, 2014
• Closing Date for Entries – September 19, 2014
• Public Voting Opens October 6, 2014
• Public Voting Closes October 27, 2014
• Announcement of Winners November 8, 2014
Entries must be submitted in the website address: www.google.com.ph/doodle4google or sent through postal mail to the addresses listed in the website.
The four age group winners will each receive Five Thousand Pesos (P 5,000.00) worth of gift certificate from National Book Store, a 3D doodling pen and a Nexus 7 tablet.
The overall winner will get the following:
• Google Trophy;
• P 400,000.00 educational grant from BPI Foundation to be used at a school/college in the Philippines of his or her choice;
• Art kit from National Book Store;
• Acer C720 Chromebook;
• The overall winner’s school or community learning center will receive a P 350,000.00 connectivity grant from PLDT-Smart Foundation; and
• The Overall Winner’s Doodle will be displayed in the Google Philippines homepage for 24 hours on November 2014.
