Kai Sotto Latest News

It has been 2 years since I updated this post and we know that Kai have parted with Ateneo to chase his dream. Since today June 1 2020 is a covid year, it did not stop Kai from training and these are the updates

1. Kai training for ball handling. In his latest video we can see that he is mastering a crossover move and hesitation play.

So yes we can expect Kai to execute that move during play.

2. Kai in late May 2020 announced that he joined on NBA D League together with Jalen Green.

3. The biggest perk is that Kai was trained under TSF and played a lot with top American HS. He even got an MVP award.

4. Kai also play in the NBA without border. He got good play on first game but on the 2nd game he did not produce good score. The crocodile player appeared.

5. He is now officially 7ft 2inches without shoes.

Dec 1 2018
Kai officially is 7’1″ 16 years old kid. If wears shoes he probably stand 7’2″. The good thing about him is he has speed and competitive attitude.

ACHIEVEMENT
1. 2018 Final MVP on Junior UAAP
2. Top center is FIBA ASIA Junior
3. 2019 #1 in MVP ranking
4. Included in NBA list of draft players

This January 2019
As the new Junior UAAP season start, ABS CBN compile his court performance and these are what added to his skills

  • He can shoot 3 points now. An improvement better than June Mar
  • He can bring the ball now. You can see on this video, twice he dribble from the half court
  • He can do sidestep now and he did it intelligently by protecting the ball in the top

In October 29 or 30 2018

Kai and his high school team recently play in Cebu with Ateneo de Cebu. In this video he was seen doing side step and slam dunk from ali hoop play.

On Mid October

Coach Yeng Guiao announced that he will include Kai Sotto in the pool of Gilas Senior to play this Nov.

On Early October 2018
Kai got an invitation for Spanish league to train and became ready for NBA. He will finished his High School before going for Spanish team.
