What is the allowable weight for lifting during pregnancy

Is there a limit to how much weight I should lift now that I’m pregnant?

There isn’t a clear-cut consensus on how much you can lift safely in pregnancy. The bigger danger is injuring your back, not hurting your baby, which is protected in your uterus.

I wish I could tell you an absolutely limit, like 20 pounds, but it really depends on how much weight your body is used to lifting. In general, don’t lift things that are heavy and uncomfortable for you, and don’t do lighter, repetitive lifting that makes you exhausted.

Lifting something one time isn’t the problem, for instant lifting your child is OK. The problem is when you have to lift an object repeatedly, as you would on an assembly line.
