The Department of Biology of the Ateneo de Manila University and the Ateneo Biology
Organization – eXplore.eXperience.eXcel. (BOx) will hold its Philippine Biology Olympiad (PBO)
2026: SINAG.
Formerly known as the Ateneo Biology Camp, the PBO is a national biology convention for students in Grades 7–12. It shall select the four student representatives of the country for the International Biology Olympiad, which will be held in the Philippines next year.
PBO 2026: SINAG will feature three onsite rounds. The first round, which is the eliminations, is scheduled for January 24, 2026, and will take place in various schools nationwide serving as satellite testing centers. The semi-finals on March 21, 2026, and the
finals on March 28, 2026, will be held at the Ateneo de Manila University campus in Quezon
City.

The activity aims to
1. encourage high school students to cultivate their interest, skills, passion, and appreciation for Biological Sciences;
2. instill supplementary academic support and awareness on the issues concerning the Biological Sciences; and
3. promote camaraderie among students from different regions in the Philippines.

Participation of learners and teachers from public and private schools shall be purely voluntary and will not hamper instructional time in compliance with the provisions of DepEd Order (DO) No. 012, s. 2025, titled Multi-Year Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and DO 9, s. 2005 titled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith and the policy on off-campus activities stated in DO 66, s. 2017.
