Weather Philippines Foundation – Automated Weather Stations (AWS)

AN INVITATION
Weather  Philippines Foundation (WPF) arms ten municipalities with knowledge on disaster and risk mitigation.

In pursuit of providing the Philippines with world-class weather information systems, the WPF named ten (10) priority meteorological sites in Cebu as recipients of Automated Weather Stations (AWS)–including the municipalities of Bogo and Carcar. AWS enhances the collection and observation of weather data. It is equipped with different sensors capable of measuring the following weather parameters: air temperature, air humidity, air pressure, rain amount, duration, and intensity.

This rollout will also include skills development and capability building training programs to local government leaders and officers to help them create their own disaster preparedness programs. Be there on July 17 from 10AM to 4:30PM at theEduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center to witness how WPF complements the government’s efforts in reducing weather-related risks in the country by enabling timely response to variable weather conditions geared at avoiding the loss of life and property.
